    Description

    Gallatin National Forest sign.
Up for sale today is this US Forest Service Gallatin National Forest guide sign.  Made to the exact standards as used from the 1910s to the 1930s by the US Forest Service to guide hikers along the trails, roads, and highways so they wouldn't get lost and possibly eaten by bears.  The signs were posted in the National Forests of all 50 states; this one is from Montana.
Printed on heavy steel with great gloss to replicate the old-school porcelain look, this sign is made to the highest standards of quality.  It is 20 by 13 inches, and weighs 6 pounds 10 ounces.
This is a high quality, heavy steel sign.  Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
Please see my auctions for other high-quality signs, and I can also make anything custom per your request. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
Figure about 8 pounds for shipping, packed with care and mailed from zip code 61833.
    Thank you for your purchase!
