    Description

The millbank bag is used by those who like to camp, go hiking, bushcrafting, hunting, survival  and  having fun in the woods. The canvas bag is used to pre-filter water from lakes, streams, ponds and other water sources. Particulate matter such as mud, silt or any floating debris is caught in the canvas material of the bag. This will also extend the life of any kind of modern filter device that you use to purify your water and make your cooking or drinking water much more enjoyable.
Until now, millbank bags have mostly been sold from makers in the U.K. Many campers, hikers, and hunters have been asking, “where can I buy a millbank bag here in the United States.” Millbank Bags U.S.A. is making quality, heavy duty canvas bags in a larger 5 liter size which reduces trips and time filtering your water.
The millbank bag is very easy to use. Submerge the bag into your water source and let it soak for 5 minutes. Now while the bag is soaking twist and squeeze it which loosens the fibers of the canvas making it drain quicker. You should do this several times. Now you are ready to open up the bag and pull it through the water until the bag is completely full. Take the bag out of the water and hang it up from a tree limb. Let the bag drain until the water level reaches the line on the outside of the bag. This is to let all the un-filtered water drain off the outside of the bag. Now place your collection bucket or pan under the bag to collect your pre-filtered water. Let the water completely drain from the bag.
How to clean the bag. If the bag has filtered very dirty water turn the bag inside out and put it in a pan or bucket of clean water. Use a soft brush and scrub the bag to get all dirt, silt, and debris off the canvas bag. This may take a few times in the water. Hang up to dry when finished. If you want it sterilized , put the bag in water with a purification tablet and your ready to go.
The millbank bag is easy to fold up and carry in your pocket or pack. You can also use it to carry other items on your camping trips or hikes.
Note: The millbank pre-filter water bag does not filter out bacteria, parasites, chemicals or pesticides. This is a pre-filter bag, not a purification filter. It will filter out large particulates and sediment to give more life to the filter system that you use to purify your water. You should boil your water for three minutes or use chemical treatment or modern filtration systems with all the water that the millbank bag pre-filters. Cheers . . .
