City Food Equipment is an independent reseller of quality new and refurbished restaurant equipment. We stand behind every item we sell with a 90-day parts and labor warranty (30 days for refrigeration equipment). Warranties apply to local sales only - Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
Our skilled Service department repairs and maintains every item we sell. Bring your equipment to our shop, or schedule a service call and we'll come to you. We have a fleet of service vehicles stocked with parts ready for dispatch to your door.
Our main location is in Lombard, IL. Stop by if you're in the area - all 40,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse is open to the public. Unless otherwise noted, items in our eBay listings are at this location and all listed equipment can be picked up from there. Whether you're new to the restaurant business and setting up shop or you're expanding an active establishment, we'll help you pick a winning lineup of new or used equipment and work out a volume pricing deal that saves you real money. If you already have some plans in motion, send us a blueprint or equipment list and we'll spec out a package according to your plan.
Payment
We do not accept credit card payments over the phone. For your protection and ours, we have chosen PayPal invoices for any credit card transactions not done in person at one of our stores. You don't need a PayPal account - just an email address. All major credit cards are accepted, and the transaction is protected by PayPal's world class security. We send you an email with a link to the PayPal invoice, and you can securely pay with your card of choice.
We accept payment by check, but it must clear the bank before any merchandise is released for shipping or pickup.
Returns
We accept returns in the 30 days following purchase, subject to the following:
All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
The returned item must be in the same condition as when it was sold.
The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs.
Refunds are given on the merchandise price only.
Shipping
Unless otherwise noted, all listed items are available for local pickup.
For buyers in the Chicago area, we can deliver equipment with our own trucks for a nominal fee. For equipment purchases outside the Chicago area, we will crate the item and arrange shipment via an LTL freight carrier. In accordance with eBay's sales process, we will contact you after your purchase to obtain shipping information, then advise you of a final purchase amount that includes freight charges.
We require complete address and contact information prior to shipping. This includes a business name, destination street address, and a contact phone number. This information is required by all freight companies.
If you require liftgate service or delivery to a residential address, you must notify us prior to the item being shipped. These are both considered extra services by freight companies, and additional charges apply accordingly.
For items that we list with "Free Shipping" please note the following:
Shipping is to the continental United States only.
"Free Shipping" only applies to purchases made at the "Buy It Now" price. If we accepted your offer on an item, please request a shipping quote.
If you require liftgate service, a fee of will be charged.
If you require delivery to a residential location or to a "limited access" location, a fee of will be charged. Limited access locations include churches, strip malls, construction sites, fairs, carnivals, storage units, military bases or installations, mine sites, prisons, and schools.
If a piece of equipment arrives with visible damage to the packaging,
refuse the shipment
. Take photos of all visible damage to the item and/or packaging and send them to us within 24 hours so we can file a claim with the shipper. If packaging is not visibly damaged, but item is seen to be damaged once the packaging is removed, take photos of all damage right away, send them to us, and contact us within 24 hours.
